  1. Dear God! Oh…my…GOD! I just heard this song for the first time on WNRN – Charlottesville…watched her sing it live here…and I AM BLOWN AWAY SOUL DEEP! What a gift… What a gift…

    ~~~~~~~~
  2. SIX Grammy nominations including The Joke for Best Song! A lot of people will be saying "Brandi Who??" until she sings this song and blows them away!! About time she gets the recognition she deserves.
  3. I agree with all the comments and the 6,700 people that "thumbs up'ed" it. And for the 158 people that "thumbs downed" it, your insane….at 37 years old, I still love nothing more than discovering a new artist or song or a song by an artist you never knew until years later….but this song was a radio discovery. 88.7 WNCW or 98.1 the river, Asheville, NC….the moment I heard it, I Shazamed it. What a great App. I am now obsessed with this powerful, emotional, brilliant, beautiful song. It then made me realize who she was, with her other hits on the radio….Wherever Is Your Heart, That Wasn't Me, The Eye….Similar to Neko Case in songwriting, big voice, notable success…. two amazing ladies….
  4. Brandi, You gave us the BEST Vocals at the Grammy tonight. You gave me chills, and I gave you a standing ovation in my living room. Bless you for sharing your incredible talent. Congrats on the Grammys you won.
  5. Great singer and songwriter but UGH she became so "vict…oops sorry, surviver". On top of the religion…. Not for me anymore. And I am genuinely sorry to say that. Which is why I keep checking her out every so often..see if she grew out of this phase.
  6. Stole the Grammy's……should have won everything she was entered in. Sorry, but Musgrave just doesn't compare to this Goddess of Song. To the oldies out there, doesn't her story telling remind you a bit of Harry Chapin?
  7. For god sake it's let em laugh while they can, not let em live while they can. I've seen these subtitles fucked up on many different videos of this song. For fuck sake, it's called 'the joke." (and yes those are the correct lyrics, see the Grammy's)
  8. Mágico. A veces las letras q viven en nuestra almas temen salir, quizás por timidez o se acostumbran a existir en un silencio que solo escucha tu corazón. Pero cuando salen , lo hacen partiendo tu pecho, y son atrapadas por sedientos de luz , que no comprenden su irracionalidad llamada amor , ese sentimiento tan rompe moldes q solo busca de nuevo al silencio, que solo tú mirada puede hacerlo…..
  9. Just flipping channels last weekend & came across her concert on PBS at Austin City Limits. Didn't know much about her but I sure do now. Love that song by her.
  10. People who didn't know this. She has 2 songwriting partners. She's not alone and the twins should be recognized more. There'd be no brandi Carlisle without the twins,she'd still have a voice.But they are exactly where there suspose to be.
  11. this song is so good i cant get it out of my mind it lingers there long times after i listen to different performances of this song wish i had found her sooner
  12. This is a hymn to those left out, over looked, unappreciated, for those who suffer. The song is special and is so needed!
